LGBT Consultative Committee

The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Consultative Committee aims to represent the interests of LGBT members of ASLEF and underlines the fundamental believe of this trade union that everyone has the right to be treated fairly and with respect.

We are opposed to all forms of harassment, bullying and victimisation and are committed to achieving a workplace free from such practices.

We will strive to eradicate prejudice and discrimination.

We aim to achieve change through education and to offer advice, information and support to all members in confidence.

LGBT Confidential Mailing List

Just contact the LGBT CC delegate for your District, or the Equalities Officer at ASLEF Head Office, and ask for your name to be added to the confidential mailing list.

This mailing list will be treated in the strictest confidence and no information held on it will be divulged to branches or other members.

You'll receive your own personal copy of "Facing Points" two or three times a year, along with various pieces of information to keep you up to date with events and legislation that affect you as an LGBT person. You'll also be kept up to date with any social events, weekend schools and open meetings that you can attend where you can meet other LGBT ASLEF members.

The number of members on the list is growing. Be part of it.
